I love cycling 🚴‍♀️ always have & probably always will. I’ve done a number of challenges over the years. I’m just about to start the next one, but a little bit of background first.

Back in 2016 I cycled through Vietnam 🇻🇳 & Cambodia 🇰🇭 – very hot & humid, my hair was permanently frizzy & I looked like I had just got out the sauna (tomato coloured), but what an experience – the people, the food, the smells, the sadness of the wars & the history. Angkor Wat was simply stunning

In September 2016 I cycled London to Paris to raise money for the Lily Foundation, a very worthwhile charity. We used the Avenue Verte route. London to Dover was OK, but Calais to Paris was superb.

It might have helped if we had had a Garmin rather than a paper map but it all added to the adventure. There is a lot to say for wrong turns & generally getting lost, not speaking French and being generally clueless in a foreign non English speaking country 🚴‍♀️🤷‍♀️.

I deviated at the tender age of 56, I learnt to swim & decided to try my hand at triathlon, well why wouldn’t you 🤔 after all what could possibly go wrong. Read http://www.maturetriathlete.co.uk for the gory details 😳

Deviation done back to cycling, Lutterworth to Great Yarmouth with my girlfriends in 2019, Lutterworth to Skegness and back for LOROS in 2022. The Isle of Man TT Circuit in 2022, amongst many other things!

The North Coast 500 in August 2022 – beautiful, wonderful, fabulous, Stunning …. If you are a cyclist it’s a must do, if you haven’t done it, put it on your bucket list & go do it.

This is Callum the Stag, who is waiting to be fed by anyone who happens to have food!!
The top of Bealach na Ba, Scotland

And now I’m here Day -2 going to tackle the English Chanel to the Mediterranean, 880 miles on my bike over 14 days. I dare say things will happen they always do …. and getting here to Portsmouth was no exception but that’s for tomorrow
